Train your ear on real conversations.

Catch That is the language ear training app. It turns podcasts in the language you’re learning into listening practice, one sentence at a time.

Coming soon to iPhone and Android.

¿Me lo puedes repetir un poco más despacio?

Could you say that again a bit more slowly?

From “too fast” to “I caught that”

  1. Pick a podcast

Search for shows in the language you’re learning and follow the ones you like. Real hosts, real accents, real speed.

  2. Listen with live subtitles

The transcript follows the audio word by word. Tap any word to jump back to it.

  3. Shadow it

Have the player pause after each sentence and replay it at the speeds you choose, so you can say it back before moving on.

  4. Rebuild what you heard

Hear short clips from other episodes and put the words back in order. It’s the fastest way to find out what your ear is still missing.

The research

Want to speak better? Start with your ear.

In studies of language learners, the words people know by sound predict how well they speak better than the words they know on the page.
